Thrust areas of the division include, formulation of Integrated Coastal Zone Management Map keeping in the Coastal Regulation Zone, critical areas of coastal erosion and associated process, coastal wetland including notified marine protected areas, Coastal Drainage congestion, Mangrove change detection, etc.
