ON-GOING PROJECTS – SPONSORED
1. SPATIAL DATABASE CREATION ON GROUNDWATER QUALITY USING LEGACY DATA UNDER RGNDWM - PHASE IV (1:50,000 SCALE)
Sponsored by: Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Govt. of India
Objective: Groundwater is facing threats due to anthropogenic activities, which has led to deterioration in its quality. Ground water is contaminated by mixing of toxic chemicals and fertilizers from waste disposal site and industrial sites. Andhra Pradesh is under a similar threat due environmental pollution resulting in water scarcity problems. The ground water quality is also closely associated to underlying substrata. The poor ground water quality may also get accentuated due to excess drawl of ground water. Hence monitoring of ground water quality has become indispensable for understanding the spread and its correlation with the underlying geology and drawl for remedial measures for an healthy society and sustainable development.
Output: Spatial and temporal distribution of the ground water quality on 9 elements Element-wise ground water quality maps for its suitability for human consumption. DSS for recharge or shifting of the drinking water source
Scale: 1: 50,000
Team: Project Manager: TL-1, SRA-1

2. GENERATION OF SEAMLESS MOSAIC OF MAPS PREPARED UNDER RGNDWM (PHASE I &III)
Sponsored by: NRSC, Department of Space (DoS), Govt of India.
Objective: Groundwater prospect maps, to identify viable areas for extraction of the same have been created under the Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Water Mission. This project aims to generate a seamless data of these integrated groundwater prospect maps and 17 thematic layers of Andhra Pradesh state to facilitate better rendition of the information for the state and for the collaborative organisation as well i.e. NRSC, Department of Space (DoS), Govt. of India.
Output: Seamless mosaic of 17 layers at district and state level with district and state map layout
Scale: 1:50,000
Team: Project Manager: TL-1, SRA-1, RA:
